Select "Customizer" from the EndNote menu. The simplest way to get the tools to appear is to open EndNote, and go to the EndNote menu. You can check if you have version 12.1.x installed by clicking on the Word menu and selecting About Word.

You can download the update from Microsoft here or you can use the Update feature for Word by clicking on the Help menu and then Check for Updates.
